Rosemount Mulvey 1-3 Balscadden FC 2nds

The second team followed up their great Leinster Junior Shield win with a hardfought LSL Division 3 victory in Dundrum.

Balscadden settled well and took the lead in the 15th minute when Nathan Rooney powered home a header from a Josh Osborne corner.

In tough conditions on a challenging pitch, the game descended into a scrappy affair. Rosemount Mulvey grew into the contest and began to threaten, eventually finding an equaliser just before half-time when their midfielder guided a header into the corner.

Balscadden then produced a really good second half to take control of the game. On 55 minutes, Dion Keogh pounced on some indecision in the hosts' box to poke past the keeper after great work from Anthony Ryan.

With 15 minutes to go James Mooney tapped home a third goal following a powerful Josh Osborne run.

Some terrific defending kept Rosemount at bay as we closed out an important three points.
