The first team got back to league action on Sunday and dug out an excellent 5-2 win against Boyne Rovers in Ringcommons.
In tough conditions, Balscadden took the lead after six minutes through Paddy Coates following good build-up play from Ross Staunton and Ger Sweetman, but Boyne equalised before the half-hour mark when their striker nipped into to finish off from a deep cross.
It was 1-1 at the break but Balscadden started the second half strongly. Luke Kimmage drove down the left and whipped in a low cross that Sean O'Rourke turned home.
It was 3-1 after nice play through the middle from Stuey Curran freed Luke Kimmage who checked inside and unleashed a superb strike - another brilliant goal for Luke's collection.
Boyne got a lifeline when they won - and converted - a penalty to make it 3-2 with about 20 minutes to go.
But Paddy Coates then raced through to make it 4-2, before completing his hat-trick to seal a hard-earned three points.
