Balscadden FC 0-4 North End United

The first team faced a big task in the Leinster Junior Cup second round on Sunday as they welcomed the holders North End United of Co Wexford.

In tough conditions, the visitors prevailed as they ran out 4-0 winners.

The first half an hour was an even affair but North End broke the deadlock on 34 minutes when their striker raced on to a long kickout and squared it for a team-mate to tap home.

Five minutes into the second half, it was 2-0. North End's clinical No 9 drilled it to the net and with Balscadden chasing the game, two more quick goals killed the contest.

A disappointing day for the lads overall but we can dust ourselves down and look forward to another big game next weekend when we travel to Hibernian FC of Waterford in the FAI Junior Cup.
