Enniskerry YC 1-2 Balscadden FC 2nds
The second team came away from Enniskerry with a very good three points after a tough clash in LSL Saturday Division 3.
Balscadden made a poor start at Berryfield Park, with the home team well on top in the first 15 minutes. Enniskerry looked the more threatening side and eventually hit the front with 35 minutes on the clock, when good combination play in the middle of the park ended with their striker racing through on goal and finishing to the net.
Balscadden responded strongly - and by half-time the match was turned on its head.
First, Kevin McKeown fed Anthony Ryan on the right. He played a one-two with Adam Flynn and then clipped a lovely cross into the box for Dion Keogh to clinically convert.
It was a great equaliser - and things got better in first-half injury time. Josh Osborne bent in a wicked corner and Nathan Rooney was there to head home at the back post.
In the second half Enniskerry pushed hard to find a leveller, throwing everything at Balscadden, but a really dogged defensive performance got us over the line as we came away with a hard-earned win.
