Eastwall Bessborough 1-7 Balscadden FC 1sts

Balscadden marched into the fourth round of the FAI Junior Cup with a brilliant win at Greendale Road on Friday night.

Eastwall are a division above us but Balscadden made a dream start and never looked back.

With less than two minutes on the clock Luke Kimmage drove down the left and whipped in a cross for Paddy Coates, who killed it with a super first touch before rifling home.

Five minutes later Luke made it 2-0 with a smashing individual effort. He surged past three players before thundering home a screamer.

Eastwall responded and got themselves back into the game when they snatched a goal off a corner.

But just before the break Sean O'Rourke won back possession to spark a counter-attack, Paddy Coates pulled back a cross for Luke and he tapped it into the net.

Early in the second half, Luke made it 4-1 when he raced on to a ball over the top to slot past the keeper and complete his hat-trick. Paddy Coates then took over, pouncing to make it 5-1 and then getting a hat-trick of his own with a lovely finish.

Philly McNally completed the scoring when he got on the end of Anto Coates' right-wing cross, steering home a good header.

A great win for the lads and we are in the hat for the next round.
