The second team earned their first league win of the season on Saturday after a 3-0 defeat of Dublin Airport in Ringcommons.
The hosts started well in very tough conditions, playing against a galeforce wind in the first half but still managing to carve out some good chances.
Daryl Clarke volleyed over after a nice move down the right, Colm Kiernan had a clean strike well saved and Nathan Rooney went close with a header. At the other end Killian Lynch made two very good saves to snuff out a couple of dangerous one on ones.
It was nil-all at the break but the crucial opening goal went Balscadden's way just before the hour mark when Nathan powered home a header after a brilliant Josh Osborne delivery.
Five minutes later, Nathan did it again, this time guiding home a fantastic header after Gary English's in-swinging corner.
Dion Keogh almost made it 3-0 with a fine rising strike that was very well tipped over the bar by the Dublin Airport keeper, but Dion didn't have to wait too much longer to get his goal. With 15 minutes to play he sealed the win after Anthony Ryan fleeced three players on the right with a scorching run and pulled it back for Dion to lash home a good finish high into the net.
A great three points for the lads - next up is Sallynoggin away on Saturday.
