The first team produced a great performance under the lights in Celbridge on Friday night to beat Ballyoulster United 3-1 in the FAI Junior Cup.
Ballyoulster are two divisions higher than us, in LSL Major Sunday, but Balscadden rose to the challenge in what was an entertaining game.
The deadlock was broken on 21 minutes when Dylan Casey swept home a Luke Kimmage cross after a quality team move.
It stayed 1-0 until the 58th minute - lovely build-up involving Stephen Sharpe, Sean O'Rourke and Dylan Casey eventually saw the ball break to Sharpie in the box and he drilled it to the net.
With 11 minutes to go Ciaran Murtagh made it three after Sean O'Rourke cracked a great effort off the post and Ciaran expertly guided home the rebound.
Ballyoulster immediately got a goal back but it proved to be only a consolation as Balscadden closed out the win to march into round 2.
