The second team suffered a 3-1 defeat to Castleknock Celtic on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts took the lead after 20 minutes when a free-kick from the left evaded everyone and went straight in.
Killian Lynch kept us in with a couple of good saves as Castleknock turned the screw, but we almost nabbed an equaliser when Kevin McKewon drew a fine save from the keeper with a shot from 25 yards out.
In the second half Balscadden were much better and did equalise in the 47th minute when Dan Byrne unleashed a brilliant strike from outside the box that rocketed into the top corner.
Josh Osborne went close with a good effort and at that point we looked likely to kick on and win the game, but 15 minutes from time Castleknock retook the lead with a shot from distance. Two minutes later, they struck again and we couldn't get ourselves back into it.
Best for Balscadden were Dan Byrne, Liam Garland and Shane Whelan.
Next up is an FAI Junior Cup game against Vianney Boys on Saturday.
