The first team drew 1-1 with Monread FC in Naas on Sunday afternoon in the LSL Premier Sunday Division.
The hosts had the chance to break the deadlock early on when they won a penalty, but Dotty Healy made a fine save - and that sparked Balscadden into life.
We began to dominate the game and took the lead in the 25th minute when Sean O'Rourke finished off a great move. Balscadden spurned chances to extend the lead and in the second half the game was more even.
With less than ten minutes to go, Monread were awarded another penalty, and this time it was converted. It ended all square and we now look forward to a Leinster Junior Cup first-round clash against Kells Celtic next Sunday.
